Social Justice and community
Lisa Lee Arneaud has been nicknamed South Florida’s “Olivia Pope”. She has served as a liaison between the black and multicultural community and the Office of the State Attorney, 17th Judicial Circuit in Broward County, FL. While representing the office at local events, community board meetings and political functions, she also served as the official spokesperson to the community, community activists, and other various government agencies. Lisa continuously worked in-sync with the state attorney to ensure every concern from the community was heard and addressed. She was in the room when it was time to handle tough conversations involving alleged police brutality, police-involved shootings, mass killings and social injustice. Because of Lisa’s efforts in spearheading sealing and expungement workshops, over 2000 people were successful in having their records sealed or expunged in Broward County. Lisa was critical in pushing for racial bias training for the office in efforts to combat implicit bias in prosecutors. She also served on the boards of local agencies on behalf of the State Attorneys Office. Lisa is a founding board member for the Justice Project of South Florida, a non-profit organization that aims to build and strengthen positive relationships between law enforcement and communities of color.
